Hi, I'm Lauryn! I'm a fully trained archivist and records manager based in Brooklyn, New York, with expertise in academic, museum, charity, medical, family history, and preservation work. I specialize in letter and diary transcription, record organization, digitization services, and records management, offering personalized solutions for individuals, researchers, and institutions alike.
I hold a Master of Science in Information Management and Preservation from The University of Glasgow, a degree recognized by CILIP, ARA, and ALA, and equivalent to an MLIS. My academic training includes extensive coursework in paleography (the study of historical handwriting), which enables me to accurately transcribe and preserve a wide range of documents, from 18th- and 19th-century records to modern family archives.
My professional experience spans multiple sectors, where I’ve worked on digitizing and transcribing thousands of documents, building finding aids, creating retention and destruction policies, organizing family records, and cataloguing historical collections. Whether I’m processing institutional archives or preserving personal family histories, I’m dedicated to ensuring records are protected, accessible, and easy to navigate for future generations.
